Transport, Reception and Unaccompanied Minor (UM) Protocol
What does the package include regarding transport?
The package includes return flights from the airport closest to the participant's city to Rafael Núñez International Airport in Cartagena (CTG). ECOMMERCE RENOVAR SAS (Tax ID 901605318-2) officially receives the participant at CTG and assumes full responsibility for their safety and wellbeing from that moment until they are handed back at the same airport at the end of camp.
1. Responsibility Segments
Responsibility for the participant transfers at specific points:
- Segment 1 — Home city → Departure gate: Sole responsibility of the parent or legal guardian. The guardian must personally hand the participant over to airline staff at the departure gate.
- Segment 2 — Flight (in transit): Airline responsibility. If the participant travels alone, the UM (Unaccompanied Minor) protocol managed with the airline by the guardian applies.
- Segment 3 — CTG arrival → End of camp: Full responsibility of ECOMMERCE RENOVAR SAS, from the moment the camp representative receives the participant at CTG until they are handed back at the end of camp.
- Segment 4 — Return flight: Airline responsibility. If UM applies, the guardian must personally collect the participant at the destination airport.
- Segment 5 — Home airport → Home: Guardian responsibility from the moment of collection at the airport.
2. UM Protocol — Unaccompanied Minor
When does the UM protocol apply?
The UM protocol applies when the participant will travel without any accompanying adult on the same flight. It is a special airline service with additional charges and specific procedures that the guardian must manage directly with the airline.
Guardian responsibilities under UM protocol:
- Advance request: Contact the airline at least 72 hours in advance to activate the UM service. Not all airlines accept unaccompanied minors on all routes.
- Additional airline charge: The UM service fee (generally between USD $15–60 per leg) is the exclusive responsibility of the guardian and is not included in the camp package.
- UM form: Complete the airline's UM form with the details of the CampoAventuras Punta Arena 2026 representative who will receive the participant at CTG. The camp will provide these details upon confirming registration.
- Gate handover: The guardian must personally hand the participant over to airline staff at the departure gate. The minor cannot be left alone at the airport.
- Collection at destination: For the return flight, the guardian must be present at the destination airport with valid ID to collect the participant directly from airline staff.
- Age restrictions: Each airline has different policies on the minimum age for unaccompanied travel. Verify with the airline before purchasing the ticket.
3. Notarised Travel Authorisation
Mandatory document in many cases!
If the participant does NOT travel accompanied by BOTH parents, Colombian law requires a notarised exit authorisation granted by the absent parent or guardian.
When is the notarised authorisation required?
- The participant travels alone (UM protocol)
- The participant travels with only one parent
- The participant travels with a family member other than both parents (uncle, grandparent, etc.)
- The participant travels with the camp representative or another non-parent adult
Without this document, Colombian immigration authorities may prevent the minor from leaving the country. Its absence does not entitle the guardian to a refund of the flight or camp fees.
CampoAventuras Punta Arena 2026 will provide a model notarised authorisation letter upon confirming registration. This model must be reviewed by a notary before signing.
4. Reception at Cartagena (CTG)
- An official CampoAventuras Punta Arena 2026 representative will be present at CTG airport to receive the participant, holding a visible sign with their name.
- The representative will carry an official camp credential and a copy of the registration form.
- From reception at CTG, the participant is under the full custody and responsibility of ECOMMERCE RENOVAR SAS.
- In the event of flight delays, the camp will maintain communication with the guardian through the registered channels.
5. Handover at the End of Camp
- At the end of camp, CampoAventuras Punta Arena 2026 will accompany participants to CTG airport for the return flight.
- For participants under UM protocol, the camp representative will hand the minor directly to airline UM staff at the check-in desk.
- ECOMMERCE RENOVAR SAS's responsibility for the participant ends at the moment of handover to the airline (return flight) or to the authorised guardian at CTG.
- The guardian will be notified at least 48 hours in advance of the return flight and estimated arrival time.
